Small World IFT announces Grandpas Over Flowers adaptation in Turkey
Los Angeles and London based format company Small World IFT announced the latest international adaptation of ratings-winning reality format Grandpas Over Flowers, also known as NBC hit Better Late Than Never, as a new local version goes into production for Turkey’s Show TV.
Local producer Bloom Medya has completed filming the first season of the new Turkish version. Shot in India, Nepal and Vietnam, the series features a female cast of iconic entertainment legends. The series is slated to air on Show TV in the summer. The deal with Show TV was concluded by Small World IFT alongside Sera Film, its representative in Turkey. This new local adaptation follows the recent commission of an Italian version for Rai 2, which will air starting 22 May 2017, and the recommission of a second season of the US hit Better Late Than Never by NBC. Small World IFT has also signed format options for the series in Poland (Golden Media), Israel (Sabres Group) and Ukraine. Created by CJ E&M Corporation, the original Grandpas Over Flowers secured record-breaking ratings on tvN in South Korea for three seasons. The heart-warming reality format features four veteran stars and their porter as they hit the road on a fish-out-of-water backpacking adventure of a lifetime, navigating unfamiliar cultures and settings as they travel to various countries and fulfill challenges to tick off their “bucket list”.
