Pro TV is the most valuable TV brand in Romania

If the Pro TV brand is sold, how much money would it cost? What about Antena 1? TVR? Together, the three media brands are worth more than 100 million euros, Paginademedia.ro writes.

Pro TV is the most valuable media brand - more expensive than TVR and Antena 1 together. Interestingly, TVR is ranks ahead of Antena 1. This is the result of analysis that has taken into account (among other factors) both revenue and reputation and how this affects market performance.

Paginademedia.ro presents for the first time an estimate of what is the value of the three media brands and how it was established. Brands have been evaluated in a study conducted by Brand Finance Romania, the world's largest independent global strategic consulting and business valuation firm with expertise in brand evaluation.

This year, Brand Finance is also represented in Romania, where Managing Director is Mihai Bogdan, one of the founders of Brandient branding company.

Media brands and values:

Pro TV – has a brand of nearly 60 million euros. Pro TV is the most valuable media brand. In the overall standings, Pro TV is ranked 12th.

TVR – has a brand value of almost 30 million euros, namely 27 million. It ranked 24th in the overall chart.

Antenna 1 has a brand value of 20 million euros.

In the valuation of brands, both incomes and so-called reputation-related indicators were taken into account. To determine brand strengths, Mihai Bogdan explains the methodology: "we analyze marketing investment, brand equity, and their impact on market performance."

"Revenues: According to data from the Ministry of Finance, Pro TV has the highest revenue of the three - in 2016 double what TVR had and 2.5 times what Antena 1 reported. Pro TV is also profitable, which positively influences the value of the brand, while TVR and Antena 1 reported losses in 2015 and far less profits than Pro TV in 2016.

Brand strength: The index was calculated at "A +" for ProTV, and "A" (so slightly lower) for TVR and Antena 1. This index is influenced by several factors such as the level of investment in the brand, Brand equity and effective market performance (market share, profit, etc.) - there are 25 factors that count in. And it follows that ProTV has better indicators than TVR and Antena 1.”
