New Odessa multiplex will ensure reception of Ukrainian nets in border regions
The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting announced a competition for digital television broadcasting in the Odessa region, with the new local multiplex carrying eight TV channels, Ukrinform reports. The TV channels in the multiplex will broadcast 24 hours daily, in 22 settlements. The signal of the multiplex will cover border areas.
"Thanks to the implementation of the project, Ukrainian digital television broadcasting in the standard DVB-T will be provided and will cover the so-called “white spots "(areas where there is no Ukrainian terrestrial television) throughout the Odessa region, in particular, border areas," - says Sergei Kostinsky, member of the Council. According to him, all local and regional TV channels that work in the region are invited to participate in the contest. The residents of the border villages of the Odessa region do not have access to Ukrainian TV and radio. RELATED
