The presentation of a new project for the Russian market – Content Summit Russia, was held during MIPCOM on October 18. The event will take place in Moscow between January 30 and February 1, 2018, as part of CSTB. Telecom & Media. The organizers promise it will be a significant step forward for the development of the exposition and the TV industry as a whole.

Content Summit Russia is organized by Midexpo with the support of Expocontent, the official representative of Reed Midem in Russia, Ukraine and CIS.

Alexandra Modestova, the GM of Expocontent, said that the demand for events that concentrate on local industry of one specific region has been growing. They include MIPCancun in Mexico, ATF in Singapore, MIPCHINA in Hangzhou. These events attract more and more participants annually.

So far, a platform that would attract all Russian players and some of the international ones, has not been formed in Russia. Many new companies, projects, platforms and technology have emerged in the country, and the need for the platform that would unite all the market players was long-felt needed. Modestova hopes to fill the need with Content Summit Russia in partnership with Midexpo.

The GM of Midexpo, organizer of CSTB. Telecom & Media, Nina Nedumova said that Content Summit Russia is a unique event for Russia. Content has been covering a significant part of CSTB, but for the first time, it will be separated into a distinct international project. It is a working platform for key international players of TV and telecom industries. She is convinced that the event will become a ‘window to Russia’ for foreign buyers and sellers, since it will feature all novelties in the field of TV and VOD content.

Content Summit Russia will merge the working platform for communications between content sellers and leading buyers from Russia, Europe and CIS, a business conference with educational part and screenings. The conference will be dedicated to main issues and cases of global entertainment industry: development of TV in the era of OTT, web content formats, VR and AR, monetization of content online, global TV viewership statistics and demands of international audience and buyers.
