Standalone HBO GO launches in four CEE territories
Time Warner's HBO announced today that it has launched direct-to-consumer services in four Central European countries. HBO Go is now available direct to consumers in Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. It contains HBO's entire library of original series, films and documentaries, HBO Europe’s local productions, a big selection of the best series from other premium content providers as well as hit movies and kids programming.
HBO Go enables subscribers to enjoy all seasons of popular and critically-acclaimed HBO Original content, such as Game of Thrones, Westworld and Silicon Valley alongside popular classic series like Sex and the City, The Sopranos and The Wire. Subscribers will also get access to HBO Europe local programming, including all seasons of acclaimed series like Shadows, Silent Valley (Romania), Burning Bush, Wasteland (Czech Republic) and Golden Life (Hungary) as well as a large selection of critically-acclaimed documentaries. In addition, HBO Go premieres a long list of brand new hit movies. "HBO Go via affiliates is already a huge success in Central Europe, but our goal is to make it even easier for the many series lovers in these countries to access HBO’s premium content. The launch of HBO Go direct to consumers in Central Europe is a natural step for us after successful launches of HBO streaming services in Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland", said Herve Payan, CEO HBO Europe. The new OTT service will be available on computers, smartphones, tablets, Apple TV, Chromecast, Samsung Smart TVs and on PlayStation. RELATED
