Netflix is boosting its catalog with Russian content. This morning it was announced that Studio Parovoz (represented by distributor Signal Media) signed a deal with Netflix for Be-Be-Bears and Leo&Tig. 

Leo and Tig tells the story about a restless leopard named Leo and his friend Tig tiger. Every day the animals play, have fun and make new discoveries. The project targets children 3+.

Be-Be-Bears is a cartoon about the adventures of tireless amusing animals: a brown bear named Bucky, a polar bear named Bjorn and their friend named Littlefox. They teach little viewers to live in harmony with nature and develop a curiosity about the world around them.

Also, NTV Russia announced yesterday that Netflix has acquired the rights for The Road to Calvary, the series based on Alexey Tolstoy’s novel. All 12 episodes are already available to subscribers of the service.

The General Producer of NTV and producer of the series Timur Weinstein said that The Road to Calvary becoming available in the library of Netflix gives an opportunity to present the project to the global audience. This is a reputational success not only for NTV but for the Russian TV market as a whole. The important fact is that the first Russian series purchased by Netflix is a screen adaptation of a historical material with all the Russian mentality.

The Road to Calvary premiered on NTV in the fall of 2017. The series tells
the story of two sisters through the tragic times of 1914–1919 encompassing World War I, the Russian Revolution, and civil war. It was produced by Russian World Studios for NTV, and features Yulia Snigir, Anna Chipovskaya, Andrey Merzlikin, Evgeny Stychkin and others.
