MarVista signs volume East European broadcast deals #MIPCOM
 11 Oct 2018
Continuing to leverage its prolific catalogue of movies spanning all genres, MarVista Entertainment (MarVista), a leading independent entertainment studio that produces, acquires and distributes premium film and television content worldwide, has concluded negotiations with multiple Eastern European broadcasters that will see over 120 of its movie titles spanning every genre airing on StoryTV in Hungary, bTV in Bulgaria, and TVP (Telewizja Polska) in Poland.

"TVP Poland has been a consistent buyer of MarVista movies for several years, and we are happy that Hungary's Story TV and bTV Bulgaria, are new broadcast partners for MarVista, which is testament to the appeal and popularity of our content," explained MarVista's Head of Global Distribution, Jody Cipriano. Each of these broadcasters picked up rights for thrillers, romance, family, action/disaster, and holiday fare validating our commitment to producing movies with high production values, recognizable talent and engaging storylines. It's a formula that continues to work for us around the globe."

In Bulgaria, MarVista licensed over 70 movie titles to bTV Media Group, the first time the broadcaster has licensed content from the independent studio. The movies, which are both new and catalogue titles, comprise a variety of thriller, family, romance, disaster and holiday movies, including the 2017 SXSW adventure thriller The Archer, along with elevated thrillers 12 Feet Deep, Sleepwalker, and heartwarming holiday movies A Cinderella Christmas and Married by Christmas.

Also new to the MarVista client roster is StoryTV in Hungary. StoryTV picked up rights to 35 of MarVista's new movie titles, including the romance Autumn Stables, along with the thrillers, which aired this year on Lifetime in the U.S., including Dangerous Date, The Nanny Betrayal, and Murder with a Twist, among others.

TVP (Telewizja Polska S.A.) in Poland, who has been licensing MarVista movie titles since 2016, once again grew its order year to year across the "thriller" and "romance" genres. Among the titles TVP selected are thrillers Cradle Swapping and Degrees of Fear, alongside romantic movies like the fun-loving Love at First Bark and Love Strikes Twice.
