Late on November 26, the Verkhovna Rada approved the decree of President Petro Poroshenko on the imposing of martial law in 10 regions of Ukraine. For the corresponding bill in favor voted 276 deputies, writes Ukrainskaya pravda.

During his speech in the Rada, the President announced that he had partially changed his decree. He proposed to introduce martial law not in the whole territory of Ukraine, but only in certain areas. Martial law will not restrict, in particular, freedom of speech, the president assured.

We are talking about areas located along the Russian border, the Transnistrian segment of the Moldovan border and on the coast of the Black and Azov Seas. This list includes Odessa, Nikolaev, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, Donetsk, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia regions. The martial law will last until December 26.

At the same time, the president stressed that power will only be limited in the case of Russian military aggression on the ground. Earlier, President Petro Poroshenko said that he decided to change his decree on the introduction of martial law, reducing his term from 60 to 30 days.

Earlier, 1+1 Media had warned that the introduction of martial law is a threat to the freedom of media in Ukraine.
