Beta adds Start’s 257 Reasons to Live to catalog
Beta Film has become the international distributor of new Russian comedy series 257 Reasons to Live after signing a deal with Start Studios, part of Yellow Black and White. The German company has acquired international rights outside of the US as well as format rights to the show, which is due to premiere at the Canneseries festival in October.
As CEETV reported earlier, the series premiered on the START streaming platform last week. 257 Reasons to Live tells the story of Zhenya – a 30-year-old woman who after three years of fighting cancer, finally received positive tests. The remission gave her hope, but a new life brought a heap of problems: breakup with her boyfriend, quarrels with her sister, problems at work, misunderstanding from colleagues, alienation of friends ... Zhenya finds her old bright yellow diary in which she had once written down 256 reasons to live. She adds the 257th one – to find love – and sets off in quest for happiness. Now she has a chance to fulfill her desires, without wasting time on doubts, routine and worthless friends. Unfortunately, it is not so easy to escape the past. The 13-episode dramedy was written by Alexey Lyapichev, Daria Vorotyntseva, Nikolay Muratov and Denis Kagarmanov, and directed by Maxim Sveshnikov. The series was produced by Yellow, Black and White.
