Keshet International completes a raft of deals in CEE for factual finished tape series
 02 Jul 2020
Polish media company and broadcaster Telewizja Polsat has picked up a raft factual series and hard-hitting documentaries produced by Crackit Productions for Polsat Cafe, including When… Goes Horribly Wrong (4x60’), a jaw-dropping series exploring how luxuries like cosmetic surgery can go painfully, dramatically and sometimes tragically wrong when we least expect it; Hoarders (5x60’), which takes a deep dive into the bizarre worlds of extreme hoarders whose “collections” are threatening to destroy their lives; and A Very British Sex Shop (1x60’), which follows the Richardson family as they use their expert knowledge of what Brits love in the bedroom to keep the family business running against the odds of social taboos and family strife.

Meanwhile, Keshet Productions’ Speed Freaks (6x60’), which sees entrepreneur and daredevil Zef Eisenberg and his team of mechanics attempt to break British land speed record, has been sold by KI to Auto Plus in Russia, CIS and Baltics and Sony Pictures Television’s Channels in Central Europe for Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

In addition, AMC Networks International - Central and Northern Europe has acquired the free TV and catch-up rights for Hungary’s Spektrum Home for both series of Rumpus Media and Motion Content Group’s Around the World by Train (S1 6x60’, S2 6x60’), in which Sir Tony Robinson take a whirlwind journey around the globe - in a different direction in each series. Both series have also been acquired by BBC Studios for its BBC Earth channel in Poland and South Africa, and also by Ananey Communications for The Travel Channel in Israel.

While in the Czech Republic, Ceska Televize has picked up both series of Hello Halo’s Junk Rescue (S1 31x15’, S2 15x15’), an inspiring live-action kids’ craft show which sees day-to-day items and old junk given a fun and practical new life, for its children’s channel ČT :D.

Marta Csizmadia, Keshet International’s Senior Sales Manager (CEE & CIS, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Africa, and Middle East), says, “This raft of deals shows that even though we and our clients are still not traveling, our shows still are. For me, it’s exciting to see that our growing slate of cross-genre English language titles are really connecting with CEE buyers and I hope that as the lockdown continues to ease, we’ll start to see increased sales of formats too.”
