NEM Network announces first speakers

Lisette Preston-Barnes of TiVo, Adam Cunningham of Allied Global Marketing, Dan Sefton of Seven Seas Films, Guy Bisson of Ampere Analysis and Dragan Marjanović of Bitmovin are just a first few speakers that will participate in panel discussions, case studies and 1 on 1s on the new online platform for TV industry professionals – NEM Network.

NEM Network is set to launch on August 19, 2020 and will consist of two main elements – B2B VOD and B2B Platform. Every Wednesday at 3 pm CET, a new video will be uploaded to the NEM Network’s B2B VOD with some of the most important TV business experts sharing their experiences during panels, 1 on 1s and case studies. NEM Network will also offer a space for networking through the B2B Platform where users will be able to have a group or individual chats and calls and they will receive real-time news about developments and deals in the TV industry in the specially created Business newsfeed. During the first month, from launch to September 19th, all signed up users will be able to watch all videos on B2B VOD and try out the B2B Platform for free.

The very first session that will be made available on the B2B VOD on August 19th is a case study by Guy Bisson, Research Director at Ampere Analysis. In the inside view by Ampere Analysis, Bisson will discuss his views on streaming services dominating Pay-TV in 2020.

The first panel session that will be available on the NEM Network from September 9th deals with the issue “What challenges increased content consumption?”. Due to the global changes and sudden increase in content consumption within the TV industry, this topic will address opportunities and/or challenges for technological companies. One of the speakers in the session is Lisette Preston-Barnes, a Business Development Director at TiVo. With 15 years of experience in the media and advanced TV advertising space, Preston-Barnes is responsible for laying down the foundation of TiVo’s advanced advertising and analytics business in EMEA, as well as developing a regional growth strategy to support TiVo’s Sponsored Content Discovery and Television Data products. Along with Preston-Barnes, the panel will include Dragan Marjanović, Product Specialist at Bitmovin, while the session will be moderated by Maria Rua Aguete, Executive Director and Technology Fellow at Omdia.

The first 1 on 1 session that will be available for streaming from August 26th, 2020 is the one with Adam Cunningham, Chief Global Strategist at Allied Global Marketing. The main focus of the discussion is “How to Ensure a Successful TV Series Marketing Campaign for Linear vs Streaming”. While Allied's clients’ portfolio includes companies such as Netflix, HBO, Universal Studios, Disney and many others, Cunningham is based in Allied’s office in London and is successfully leading the company’s expansion into international markets, currently doing services such as media, creative, data in over 50 countries globally.

Another interesting session during the first month of NEM Network will be a 1 on 1 with Dan Sefton, Writer and Co-founder at Seven Seas Films. Along with insights on his TV show The Mallorca Files, Sefton will share his experiences in writing for an international daytime audience in the session called “The Mallorca Files: Creating the European Writers Room” which will be available on the B2B VOD from September 2nd. The session with Sefton will be moderated by Michael Pickard, Editor of C21 Media’s Drama Quarterly magazine and website.

After the successful first edition of NEM’s TV Writing Contest for amateur or professional screenwriters, the second edition is going completely online and will be held on NEM Network as well. Jury members that will rate submitted projects are HBO Europe, Beta Film, RAI, Croatian Radio Television, RTL Croatia, PÖFF - Black Nights Film Festival, CineLink Industry Days, Zig Zag Productions, Torino Film Lab, Joyrider and Screenwriters School by Michael Lucker. The deadline for the submission of projects is before October 19th, 2020.
