Canal+ launches the 6th edition of its Series Lab

On Monday, October 19, another international edition of the Canal+ Series Lab program started. It is addressed to scriptwriters, directors and creative producers professionally creating television series. The announcement of selected projects and the start of the first online session - in December this year, and the program will close in April 2021.

Canal+ Series lab is a meeting place for series creators. “We want to support the creators in developing premium series. We are waiting for projects of various genres, with a strong concept. We will develop selected projects in teams, under the supervision of recognized script consultants. We will prepare the best ones for production and broadcast. As part of the first edition in 2016, we developed, among others the series Klangor, which is currently in production and its script writer is Kacper Wysocki,” - commented Anna Różalska, director of original and co-productions at Canal+.

The partners of the 6th edition are StudioCanal, M7 Group and Kino Świat. The program is under the patronage of the Guild of Polish Screenwriters. Matthieu Darras, creator and director of film development programs such as First Cut Lab, Pop Up Film Residence and Full Circle Lab, became the main consultant. The hosts will be producer and script consultant Naomi Levari and Laura Piani (screenwriter for Season 6 of "Spiral"). The projects will be developed under the supervision of producers - Leszek Bodzak (producer of the series Król - broadcast in November this year), Piotr and Łukasz Dzięciołów (producers of the series Kruk. Whispers after Dark - season 1 and 2 and the series Klangor).

The organizers invite screenwriters and teams (screenwriter, director, producer) with serial projects at the stage of early development. You can apply for the program online, the application should include a logline (maximum 100 characters), season synopsis (maximum 100 words), detailed synopsis of the season (maximum 3 pages), explication (maximum 1 page), and a short professional biography of the creator. Applications can be submitted by November 10 via the form available at https://tv.pl.canalplus.com/serieslab/. Both projects in Polish and English are accepted. Participation in the program is free, classes will be conducted in English.
