You read it first! Caracol confirms Greek remake for La Suegra
Caracol Television confirmed yesterday that comic telenovela La Suegra (The Mother-in-Law), produced by Caracol and Sony Pictures Television, will be adapted in Greece.
CEETV reported first back in May that the remake has been commissioned by Alpha TV. It will be produced by Tanweer Productions. With lots of humor, The Mother-in-Law follows the life of Roxani Tavoulareas, as she will have to figure out how to rebuild her life when she moves back to her country from the United States. What she didn’t count on, was for her architectural and construction company to be bankrupt in the hands of her family, forcing her to put all her relatives in check and make them live in the same house, with the sole purpose of teaching them an unforgettable lesson. This lady´s peculiar personality will unleash a power struggle at home with her daughters-in-law, her sons-in-law and the rest of the family members. There will be countless joyful situations with the funny occurrences that each member of this family will come up with in the midst of these confrontations. Paloma Garcia, Caracol Television’s Sales Director for Europe and Africa: “Caracol is proud of the local adaptation of its successful format La Suegra. This production reinforces our presence in Greece in the fiction genres and is proof that our titles are universal and can work in European territories. It is a real challenge for our creative teams to continue developing stories that attract audiences from all over the world, especially in a highly competitive environment when it comes to fiction stories”. The series will most likely take over the daily primetime slot of Alpha TV. RELATED
