beIN Sports acquires Premier League rights for Turkey
Qatar-based broadcaster beIN Sports has secured the rights in Turkey to English soccer’s top-flight Premier League. Starting from the 2022/23 season, the three-year deal will see the pay TV broadcaster show live and exclusive coverage of every Premier League game, in addition to weekly clips, highlights and shows, Sportspromedia reports.
BeIN will take over as the Premier League’s broadcast partner in Turkey from Saran Media, whose current deal expires at the end of the ongoing 2021/22 season. Saran recently extended its partnership with the Premier League in markets including Afghanistan, Belarus and Georgia, among others. The deal strengthens the relationship between beIN and the Premier League, whose games are also aired by the broadcaster in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The agreement also bolsters beIN’s portfolio in Turkey, where it holds domestic rights to the Turkish Super Lig, while it also has coverage of France’s Ligue 1 and Germany’s Bundesliga. RELATED
