The Hunt for Salamander presented at Series Mania
Following the premiere of the crime series The Hunt for Salamander (original title in Bulgarian: Missing Persons Department) in Bulgaria, the series was also presented at the prestige film festival Series Mania in Lille, France, as part of the selection of “Forum Exclusives”. The Bulgarian series is one of the selected 21 first-class world productions from 19 countries and will be shown during the festival between August 30 and September 1. In addition, all accredited industry members and international buyers will be able to see it on the Series Mania online platform from August 30 to September 18.
The original series, which was the focus of Nova TV Bulgaria’s spring schedule in 2021 and was also presented during PITCH&PLAY SERIES+, is another step of Nova Broadcasting Group in support of the development of quality Bulgarian film production. Interesting, intricate and multi-layered, the plot of the series revolves around a mysterious murder that led to a tragedy with dramatic consequences in the lives of Inspector Kamen Petkov and his ex-wife - Senior Commissioner Ralitsa Petkova. The crime drama also tracks unusual criminal cases, touching on significant universal issues such as unconditional parental love, retribution, cruelty, revenge and forgiveness. The images of the characters are magnetic, bright and ambiguous, provoking contradictory emotions in the viewers as well. Behind the production are an experienced team of professionals and an impressive cast, including some of the most talented and successful Bulgarian actors with a number of roles in cinema and theater: Julian Vergov, Ana Papadopoulou, Hristo Petkov, Elena Telbis, Plamen Dimov, Ivan Burnev, Vessela Babinova, Koyna Ruseva and others.
