Kazakh drama travels to North America
French production company Arizona Films and UK-based sales house Videoplugger jointly announced that the crime series A Dark, Dark Man has been picked up in a deal with MHz Networks which airs in the United States and Canada.
A Kazakh interpretation of film noir, A Dark, Dark Man is a three-part crime series (released as a feature in 2019) set in the boundless Kazakh steppes. Young but disenchanted policeman Bekzat, charged with covering up a new case of fatal assaults on little boys, is caught off guard by the intervention of Ariana, a defiant and determined journalist coming from the city to investigate the case.
