Expert says companies leaving Russia will move to Kazakhstan
 08 Mar 2022
The founder and head of Talapker Education Solutions, Didar Mardanov, believes that due to the situation in Ukraine, most international companies operating in Russia will transfer their representation to other countries. In particular, according to him, Procter&Gamble has already decided to move its Moscow office to Kazakhstan. He announced this on his Facebook page:

“Over the weekend, the governing bodies of some major international companies with representative offices in Russia decided to move the offices of their Russian companies to other countries.

With a strategy where they do not leave the Russian market, Kazakhstan could become the most suitable place for them to base their own representative offices.

In particular, there is information that Procter&Gamble has already decided to move its Moscow office to Kazakhstan, now choosing between Astana and Almaty.

Due to the heavy sanctions pressure on Russia and against the backdrop of statements by the US State Department about the urgent evacuation of US citizens from Russia, Kazakhstan has the opportunity to attract them here, creating special conditions for the offices of large companies for their commercial activities in the CIS market through our country. This will attract huge revenues to the country's budget, not to mention the associated benefits in the form of jobs, rent and purchase of real estate, and so on.

I hope our officials will be able to quickly respond to this and take adequate measures.”
