The head of the National Broadcasting Council Olga Gerasimyuk said that since February 24 in Ukraine 164 broadcasters have stopped broadcasting, 284 frequencies have been lost. Gerasimyuk said this during a meeting of the European Platform of Regulators (EPRA) in Antwerp.

The head of the National Broadcasting Council reminded that as a result of the annexation of Crimea in 2014, Ukraine lost, and Russia unreasonably and illegally uses 503 frequency assignments. 175 frequency assignments were lost in the territories of the so-called DPR and LPR.

"During the full-scale war that began on February 24, 284 frequencies were lost, 164 Ukrainian broadcasters stopped broadcasting, and Russian propaganda media started broadcasting using our frequencies. Unfortunately, these numbers are constantly growing due to the war," Gerasimyuk said.

Gerasimyuk called on European media regulators to continue the unification process to further counter Russian disinformation.

In particular, the National Council has created a "map of solidarity and support", which clearly shows which countries have already blocked most of the available Russian channels (Russia Today and Sputnik).

“Each of your letters about countering ruscist propaganda, each of your responses, which contained the words "forbidden", "off", "canceled", "suspended", inspired, strengthened our hope, evoked boundless gratitude and gave us an invaluable sense of unity ... What we clearly understood during the war was that total misinformation and cynical distortion of reality, which are Russia's powerful weapons, unfortunately cannot be resisted by conventional military means. That is why we must strengthen and maintain our unity and effective cooperation."
