Ukraine's international broadcasting in Russian is subject to constant cyberattacks from Russia. The goal of the cybercriminals is to prevent the Russian-speaking audience from accessing the FreeDom marathon, State Enterprise Multimedia Platform for International Broadcasting of Ukraine, which manages the UATV and Dom TV channels, announced.

Cyber attacks have been ongoing on for several days. The company contacted the law enforcement agencies.

As it became known last week, Russian hackers hacked the site of the Dom channel and announced it on the Russian pro-government Telegram channel Mash and the channel of the hacker group XakNet Team. On the website, the hackers posted images of the Russian flag and the sounds of the Russian national anthem.

The FreeDom marathon is a daily television information project that is broadcast in Russian. It is created by the State Enterprise MPIBU and partner media groups Ukraine, 1+1, Starlight Media and Inter.

UATV is a foreign broadcasting channel in Russian with coverage of more than 60 countries. Broadcasting of the Russian-language channel Dom started in 2020 for audiences in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
