Ukraine and Poland sign memorandum on cooperation in the field of TV and radio
 14 Jul 2022
On July 13, as part of the visit of the delegation of the National Broadcasting Council of Ukraine to Poland, the Ukrainian and Polish media regulators signed a Memorandum on cooperation in the field of television and radio broadcasting.

On behalf of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, the head of the body Olha Gerasimiuk signed the memorandum, and on behalf of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Poland, the head of KRRiT Witold Kolodzejski.

The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation will become an important tool for cooperation and support of the Polish and Ukrainian information space, joint production and exchange in the field of media and cultural products, Gerasimiuk is convinced. This will make it possible to form a positive image of Poland and Ukraine, as well as to better use for this purpose the attractive potential of Polish and Ukrainian cultures in the context of European affiliation.

As stated in the Memorandum, its goal is the development of cooperation in the field of broadcasting regulation through the support and implementation of joint activities, the exchange of information and experience between the national regulatory bodies of Poland and Ukraine. It will contribute to expanding the possibilities of choosing television and radio programs for the audiences of both countries, the development of audiovisual creativity and the creation of conditions for such development.

Cooperation between the parties will take place in the following directions:

promoting the exchange of audiovisual services and creating conditions for the emergence of a joint audiovisual product;

conducting mutual consultations and exchanging information on specific sector issues and strategies and mechanisms of active cooperation in the field of broadcasting regulation;

exchange of specialists and experts, as well as organization of visits and meetings;

study of the role of regulatory bodies of the party states in ensuring the development of the modern broadcasting sector;

organization and participation in joint seminars, symposia, conferences, round tables in the field of broadcasting regulation;

other agreed methods for cooperation.

The document enters into force from the date of its signing by the parties for a period of five years with automatic extension, until one of the parties wishes to terminate its validity.

"February 24 changed everything. Changed our nations. Changed our countries. Prawdziwych szczecin pozna siÄ™ w biedzie - a true friend is known in trouble. A proverb known among our peoples. Ukraine and Poland chose one path. On it, we learned to distinguish between enemies and value friends. Appreciate each other and the most important thing is to respect," said Gerasimiuk.

As she noted, Poland is one of the leaders not only in supporting Ukraine, but also in protecting and promoting sanctions. Already on February 25, the National Broadcasting Council banned Russian propaganda TV channels.

"I believe that Poland's leadership will help to confirm at the pan-European level what our peoples already understand," emphasized Gerasimiuk.
