The Ministry of Culture of Kyrgyzstan has allowed five Russian TV channels to continue broadcasting in the country - Channel 8, RTV Media, NTV KG, Domashny, EMTV, the 24.kg portal reports. The head of the licensing control department of the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Bektur Ibrahimov confirmed the information.

TV channels had their licenses revoked from January 1 of this year, as the companies violated the requirements for the mandatory broadcast of 50% of the content in the state language. At the moment, according to Ibrahimov, the listed TV channels have no problems with the language policy.

The REN TV channel stopped broadcasting in Kyrgyzstan from January 1, 2022, on the basis of the submitted application for the cancellation of the issued permit.
