Latvia also launches campaign to buy Bayraktar for Ukraine
 18 Aug 2022
Latvian musician Ralfs Eilands and Ukrainian journalist Vladimir Biryukov called on the Latvian public to donate money for the Bayraktar UAV for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The project's goal is to collect 5 million euros.

"Donating for a Latvian 'Bayraktar' gives us an opportunity to express our support for Ukraine in this brutal war and to send greetings to the russian occupiers through Ukrainian hands," says Ralfs Eilands.

"The russian occupiers and vladimir putin have decided to rewrite history somehow. But they will not succeed, this has already been proven by the strong Ukrainian army, which is able to efficiently defend not only Ukraine, but also the entire civilized, democratic, and most importantly, free world," adds Vladimir Biryukov.

When asked how quickly the Latvians will be able to collect 5 million, Eilands answered: "If we perceive this as an important common mission, then everything will go as it should. Some people have forgotten about the war by now. The goal of this campaign is not only to raise the required amount of money, but also to remind them that, unfortunately, nothing is over yet, so it is important that our support does not run out."

In May, Lithuanian TV presenter, founder of Laisvės TV and public figure Andrius Tapinas raised 5 million euros for a Bayraktar TB2 drone for the defenders of Ukraine in three days.

In June, Polish journalist Slawomir Sierakowski launched a 30-day crowdfunding campaign for a Bayraktar UAV for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the required amount was also raised sucessfully.

Ukrainian TV presenter and volunteer Serhii Prytula also collected money for three Bayraktar drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine in three days.

The Turkish company Baykar announced that it would hand over three drones to Ukraine for free.

Crowdfunding for a Bayraktar for Ukraine is currently underway in Norway.
