Ukraine has received 5000 Starlink satellite communication terminals from Poland, the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov announced on his Facebook page.

According to Fedorov, the terminals will be used for the needs of critical infrastructure sites and to improve the communication efficiency of Ukrainians. “Our Polish friends handed over 5000 Starlinks to Ukraine. This will help Ukrainians to always be connected and critical infrastructure sites to work in the most difficult conditions. I am very grateful to the State Secretary for Digitalization of Poland, Janusz Czeszczynski, for such an important step,” Fedorov wrote.


Also, according to the minister, there are already more terminals in Ukraine than in Europe, around 20.000. The station will be built for them after the war. For now, they are improving what they have and working at stations abroad.

On February 27, against the background of Russia's large-scale aggression, SpaceX founder Elon Musk agreed to provide Ukraine with access to satellite Internet and activated the Starlink service in Ukraine. On February 28, the first Starlink terminals were brought to Ukraine, they were adapted to the needs of Ukraine. In particular, the software was updated to reduce energy consumption and mobile roaming was enabled.

Now Starlink helps the Armed Forces of Ukraine, supports the operation of critical energy and telecommunications facilities, health care facilities, etc.

The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection informed MediaSapiens that everyone in Ukraine can use the Starlink satellite Internet, including the civilian population.
