The National Broadcasting Council of Ukraine approved a new List of Programs of Foreign Television and Radio Organizations that are allowed to operate in the country. Their number was cut to 49 from the previous 185.

"This is not a problem of foreign channels and the National Council, but of Ukrainian distributors," said a member of the National Council Maksym Onoprienko during the meeting. He added that dialogue with distributors continues.

Also, the National Council left this list open, that is, it allowed the rest of the companies to submit the necessary package of documents for inclusion in the list within 2 months. After that, the previous decisions of the National Council, according to which foreign programs are rebroadcasted, will lose their validity.

On November 18, 2021, the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine approved the "Procedure for forming a list of programs of foreign television and radio organizations that are rebroadcast." Foreign programs can be rebroadcast in Ukraine subject to several requirements: their content meets the requirements of Ukrainian legislation, as well as the European Convention on Transborder Television; they are included in the list of rebroadcast programs. Such a list is approved by the decision of the National Council. The specified requirements are stipulated by Article 42 of the Law of Ukraine "On Television and Radio Broadcasting".
