Russian hackers attack Polish state websites
 28 Mar 2023
Hackers backed by Russian intelligence services attacked several websites of the Polish government over the weekend, IMI reports.

Among them is the website of the Polish military counter-intelligence service, as well as the website of the Polish military defense company Dezamet SA, which is to produce ammunition for the UAF, Ukrinform reports, citing PAP.

"Various attempts to block important websites of state institutions or institutions related to the state happen every day. They are mostly carried out by hackers working for Russia, but they use rather primitive tools," Stanislaw Zaryn, the spokesman for the coordinating Minister for special services, stressed.

According to him, these include DDoS attacks or attempts to block various Internet pages from working.

"Such attacks are carried out by groups working for the Russians, such as Killnet or NoName057. These are hacker teams controlled by Russian special services, which are waging a cyberwar against the West, namely against Poland," Zaryn stated.

He admitted that recently the web page of the Polish military counterintelligence was having short-term issues working, but the problem was quickly eliminated. According to him, this can be seen as a response to the effective work of Polish counterintelligence, which recently neutralized yet another Russian intelligence operation in Poland.

As reported by the Polish Fakt, the hacker attack against Polish state institutions was to be carried out by the Russian hacker group Phoenix. The attack was to target the websites of the National Judiciary Council, the Tax Administration of Poland and the enterprise Dezamet S.A., which is planned to start producing ammunition for the UAF.

As reported by IMI, on March 22, 2023, the pro-Russian hacker group NoName057(16) attacked the websites of the Italian government, including those of the lower house of the Parliament and several Ministries.
