The application period for TV series for the Heart of Sarajevo Awards, which will be held as part of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF), will remain open until May 5 and registration is free-of-charge.

Drama series and comedies from Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Kosovo and Slovenia, which have premiered between April 1, 2022, to April 30, 2023, are all eligible for participation in the ceremony. The series can be submitted by their producer / rights owner and all episodes must be submitted in order to be nominated for the awards.

All nominations are decided by the Professional Jury, which is made up of over 450 film professionals from the region. The awards will be divided in two categories - for drama series and for comedies. In the drama series category will be given 8 awards: for Best Drama Series, Best Leading Actor, Best Leading Actress, Best Female Episodic Role, Best Male Episodic Role, Rising Star, Best Director and Best Script. In the comedy category, 5 awards will be given: Best Comedy, Best Leading Actress, Best Leading Actor, Best Director and Best Script.

The Sarajevo Film Festival established the Heart of Sarajevo awards for TV series in 2021 with the aim of promoting and honoring the best TV series from the region shown in the past year. The Heart of Sarajevo award ceremony will be held at the 29th SFF, which this year will be held on August 11-18.
