You read it first! Let's Make a Deal officially confirmed with Alpha TV deal
 26 May 2023
Marcus / Glass Productions and international sales house Can’t Stop Media yesterday announced that they have sold the format rights to the classic gameshow Let’s Make a Deal to Greek commercial network Alpha TV.

CEETV reported first in early May that the show will likely hit the channel's air during the new TV season.

The format rights owners confirmed that Let’s Make a Deal will broadcast daily in access primetime with a launch scheduled in the fall, to replace Deal or no Deal. The local adaptation, entitled To Pio Megalo Pazari (The Big Bazaar) will be executive produced by FOSS Productions (an Ogilvy company) and produced by Alpha TV. The deal marks the latest territory expansion for the program since Marcus / Glass Productions, a joint production venture between Marcus Entertainment Chairman Marcus Lemonis and Glass Entertainment Group CEO Nancy Glass, acquired the IP for the hit show.

The announcement follows Let's Make a Deal’s recent re-version in Portugal on TVI for both daily and primetime Sunday nights as well as Indonesia on GTV (as Super Deal), where the show now airs seven days a week and is on the cusp of reaching 300 daily episodes since its launch in mid 2022. The format recently premiered in Hungary on TV2 where it led its slot with an average of 17%. The US version, hosted by Wayne Brady, is a megahit that’s been airing daily on CBS since 2009, nearing 3.000 episodes.

Damien Porte, partner at Can't Stop Media, said, "We’re pleased to get this daily commission in such a competitive market. Access primetime is the ideal slot for this legacy format, which has already been adapted in 23 countries from Asia to the Americas. We believe this will pave the way for more broadcasters to follow track.”

Nancy Glass added: “Let’s Make a Deal continues to deliver as a safe bet for broadcasters worldwide. We are excited for this timeless format to find a home in Greece.”
