1+1 refuses to comment on questions related to Kolomoisky
 04 Oct 2023
1+1 Media refused to answer the question by Detector Media on whether the support of the arrested owner of the media group, Ihor Kolomoisky, on the part of several 1+1 journalists should be considered their private opinion or the official stance of 1+1 Media.

On September 27, Detector Mediaemailed the request to the 1+1 Media head of corporate communications, Yana Liakhovych.

According to the media outlet, Liakhovich asked them in a private online conversation on September 29 whether there was a deadline for responding to the request. The media asked for a response by 12.00 on October 2. Yet, the editors received no answer.

In July 2017, several 1+1 employees became minority owners of one of the founding companies of the 1+1 channel. Seven of them appeared in court to defend Ihor Kolomoisky.

As IMI reported, on September 25, 2023, employees of the TV channel 1+1 came to the Kyiv Court of Appeal to attend the hearing in the appeal against the arrest of the 1+1 Media owner, Ihor Kolomoisky, and take the oligarch on bail. Namely, the hearing was attended by TV presenters Natalia Moseychuk, Alla Mazur, Yuriy Gorbunov, 1+1 CEO Yaroslav Pakholchuck, head of information Serhiy Popov, journalists Oleksandr Zahorodniy and Ihor Tsyhanyk and the former Minister of Culture and former 1+1 CEO, Oleksandr Tkachenko.

The court upheld the ruling against Kolomoisky despite their vouching.

The journalists' presence at the hearing was met with a backlash in some parts of the society.

On September 26, "Detector Media" emailed the "1+1 Media" five questions which the media group declined to answer. The group was seeking a comment on the backlash against the 1+1 employees who previously asked to release the 1+1 Media owner, Ihor Kolomoisky, on bail.
