Ukraine and the UK join efforts to fight propaganda
Ukraine and Great Britain will cooperate in the field of information security and the fight against manipulation and propaganda within the framework of the agreement "On cooperation in the field of security between Ukraine and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" signed on January 12. "Participants recognize that the Russian Federation continues to manipulate information in support of its war against Ukraine, and will seek to continue to mutually support each other's efforts to convey truthful information," the document reads.
Ukraine and Britain will jointly improve the capabilities of the former to counter threats to information security and cooperate with like-minded partners for effective communication at the international level, offering the world a true alternative to Russian disinformation. In addition, the participants of the agreement undertake to coordinate closer cooperation in the field of communications to counter disinformation and promote the development of joint educational and training programs for information security specialists. This is planned to be implemented, in particular, by increasing the level of English language proficiency in this area, exchanging experience and organizing professional events. It should be noted that Great Britain became the first country to conclude a final bilateral security agreement with Ukraine within the framework of the agreements agreed upon during the Vilnius NATO summit between Ukraine, the G7 members and the states that joined them. The document formalizes the support that Britain has provided and will continue to provide to our nation in the area of security, including intelligence sharing, cyber security, medical and military training, and defense industrial cooperation. According to the agreement, the United Kingdom will continue to support Ukraine during the 10-year validity of the document, that is, until 2034. RELATED
