Former Ukrainian TV stylist killed in combat
 12 Jun 2024
Soldier Shura Ryazantseva (call sign "Yalta"), who used to work as a costume designer and stylist on television and in cinema before the full-scale invasion, was killed in action.

The death was announced by her sister Valeria Ryazantseva, Censor.net reports.

"To our great sadness, Shurochka is gone," the sister wrote on Shura's Facebook page.

It is yet unclear how exactly the soldier died or where.

Shura Ryazantseva is from Yalta (Crimea, currently occupied). She was taken prisoner by the Russians in 2014, which she spoke about in an interview with Suspilne Krym in March 2024.

Before Russia's full-scale invasion, she used to be a costume designer, dressing the actors of "Kvartal 95" in particular. During the Revolution of Dignity, Shura was dragging the wounded from Instytutska St. to safety. On February 24, 2022, the woman went to an enlistment office in Kyiv as a volunteer and joined a ground defense unit two weeks later.

Shura turned 40 on June 2. On the same day, she said that she had recently joined a new military unit at the AFU.

Shura Ryazantseva worked as a stylist and costume artist for Inter, Studio Kvartal 95, the show Heads and Tails, and Ukraina TV channel.
