Geophil, the global co-production and distribution studio based in Dubai and headed up by Managing Director Robin Philip, announced the acquisition of several Turkish historical drama series from TRT, Turkey's national public broadcaster, for distribution in Pakistan.

Among the series included in the agreement is Fatih: Sultan of Conquests, the mega-hit historical drama that brings to life the story of Fatih Sultan Mehmed, an important ruler in Ottoman history, and his epic conquests. It stars Serkan Çayoglu in the title role, as well as Selim Bayraktar, Tuba Ünsal, and Kenan Çoban.

Other notable titles include Haci Beyram Veli, Mavera, Victorius Mehmets, and Filinta. Geophil’s reach into the Turkish content landscape has exponentially increased over the last year, and it plans to expand further into the pan-Asian market.

On the coproduction side, Geophil maintains a joint venture, GlobalSphere, alongside Turkish media company MediaHub, focusing on co-producing premium Turkish dramas, including the hit series Alaca. Under the GlobalSphere banner, more original Turkish projects are slated to be produced in the coming year, with details to be announced soon. Geophil is actively looking to co-produce projects across Asian markets, especially remakes of globally acclaimed fiction titles.
