You read it first! Mediaset Distribution confirms Polish deal for Il Mammo
Mediaset Distribution today confirmed the sale of its beloved scripted format Il Mammo (translated as Mr. Mom) to Poland, where the production company Brand Trust Partners has already completed filming two episodes of the local adaptation, titled Pan Mama.
CEETV reported first that TVP is adapting the hit Italian sitcom ten days ago. Back in 2011, the series was also adapted and aired in Turkey. Produced by Telewizja Polska, with Brand Trust Partners as the executive producer, Pan Mama brings a fresh and culturally resonant take on the Italian original, which has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide. Originally produced in Italy by RTI S.p.A., Il Mammo is a heartwarming and humorous series that follows the story of Silvano, a stay-at-home widower navigating the challenges of managing the household and raising his three children alone. The show combines touching family dynamics, thanks to its relatable humour and the authenticity of Silvano’s struggles, from dealing with teenage angst to managing daily chaos in the kitchen. In the Polish adaptation, the central role of Sylwester, the devoted and occasionally overwhelmed stay-at-home dad, is portrayed by Paweł Domagała (Gotowi na wszystko. Exterminator, Dzień dobry, kocham cię!, 80 milionów). His children are played by Ania Stolarska, Olga Wypych, and Mirosław Tamchuk, whose performances add youthful charm and emotional depth to the series. Other key roles include Karolina Bacia, Piotr Głowacki, and Mirosław Zbrojewicz, with guest star actor Grażyna Szapołowska and perfect recognizable journalist in Poland - Beata Tadla contributing to a stellar cast that brings the vibrant family dynamic to life. The Polish adaptation boasts a talented creative team with director Jan Foryś, cinematographer Mikołaj Łebkowski, set designer: Paweł Dąbrowski, and screenwriters Kuba Wecsile, Filip Kasperaszek, and Mariusz Pitura. The production stays true to the heartwarming and comedic essence of the original Il Mammo, while adapting it to reflect Polish culture and the reality of 20-ties of 21 century. Mediaset Distribution looks forward to the premiere of Pan Mama and celebrating the continued global journey of Il Mammo. RELATED
