N1 Croatia has announced that the company is undergoing a business reorganization to ensure sustainability and future development. The Trade Union of Croatian Journalists’ (CJA/HND) is working in accordance with the Labor Act and the principles of social dialogue to gather all available information about the company’s true plans, which have been labeled as a reorganization in the announcement. The development of this situation raises concerns about jobs, the future of programs, and shows.

"N1 television is of immeasurable importance to Croatia. As one of the most significant sources of independent journalism and professional standards, N1 serves as a foundation for informing citizens, protecting democratic values, and ensuring societal transparency. The journalists of N1 television are a voice of truth, impartiality, and responsible reporting. A reorganization that would lead to drastic job cuts and program reductions would not only harm employees but also deliver a severe blow to pluralism and media freedom in the country.

We express our concern over layoffs and the discontinuation of programs and demand solutions to preserve this vital media outlet and the jobs of our colleagues, who have consistently demonstrated what true journalism is and why it matters.

The TUCJ’s goal is clear: to fight for every job, protect labor rights, ensure compliance with legal obligations, and advocate for every program that holds significance for the public and adheres to professional standards that bind us all.
