Vivacom ranks Top 5 in global business satellite growth
 24 Feb 2025
Vivacom, Bulgaria’s leading telecommunications operator and part of United Group, has earned another prestigious international recognition. The company now ranks among the top five global operators for satellite services revenue growth in the Top Teleport Operators 2024 report, published by the World Teleport Association (WTA). This year, for the first time, Vivacom has also entered the Independent Top 10, a ranking of companies based on total revenues from all sources.

Victoriya Boklag, CEO of United Group, stated: “This recognition from the World Teleport Association for the fifth consecutive year reaffirms our position among the world’s leading satellite service providers. It also demonstrates that our strategy—focused on innovation and investment in advanced technologies and infrastructure—is driving sustainable growth and delivering value to our customers across multiple continents.”

United Group remains the only company in the region featured in this prestigious ranking. The group continues to strengthen its partnerships with some of the world’s largest satellite operators and content providers, including Disney, Eutelsat, Viacom, National Geographic Channel, Viasat, Endurosat, Leaf Space, and many more.

Vivacom operates two state-of-the-art ground stations for business satellite services in Bulgaria: the Plana Earth Station, near the village of Plana, and the Mogila Ground Station, near Stara Zagora, which supports Eutelsat’s low Earth orbit satellite communications. Additionally, two more ground stations are under construction as part of a major international project. The Plana Teleport holds the highest industry certification—Tier 4—confirming its status as a premier facility for satellite ground services.

Vivacom currently broadcasts more than 600 TV channels and provides connectivity across Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia, including remote locations such as Antarctica. These achievements further reinforce its global position in satellite services.
