Megogo has signed an agreement with Viaplay Content Distribution to launch Viaplay Films and Series as part of an additional subscription on the Megogo platform in Poland. The Viaplay Films and Series package will be available from June 30 this year.
Despite the planned end of the Viaplay streaming service in Poland, current and new subscribers will be able to continue to use access to Viaplay Films and Series as part of Megogo packages. Users with a Viaplay Medium or Viaplay Total subscription will be able to use access to the Viaplay Films and Series package as part of Megogo packages offered via the service's application. Over the past five months, many excellent productions have premiered on Viaplay Films and Series. The offer has been joined by, among others: the comedy drama Udar (The Stroke) starring Jacek Poniedziałek, the Danish production Call Me Dad, the feature film Klątwa starring Vanessa Aleksander and Agnieszka Więdłocha, the provocative drama Threesome and the award-winning Danish series Bullshit starring Dorota Pomykała. In May, the Viaplay Films and Series offer also included the Swedish crime series Taelgia, and the blood-curdling documentary Kobieta z Bunkra will soon be available. Later this year, viewers will also be able to see the Polish feature film Sezony. The aforementioned productions, along with subsequent premieres each month, will be available to Megogo subscribers. Vanda Rapti, Viaplay Group EVP, Viaplay Select & Content Distribution, commented: “In line with our previously announced strategy update, Viaplay Group will focus on further developing its business in the Nordic and Dutch markets and will exit Poland in 2025, where Viaplay was one of the leading sports streaming services. However, Viaplay Content Distribution will continue to work with new partners within Viaplay Select and the Viaplay Filmy i Seriale subscription package. Poland remains one of the key markets for Viaplay Content Distribution, and we are excited to expand our presence with Megogo to offer viewers a wide catalog of international films and series.” Artur Pacuła, Megogo Poland, added: "We are very happy to provide Polish viewers with access to excellent content. I am convinced that current Viaplay subscribers will continue to use the Viaplay Filmy i Seriale offer via the Megogo platform. With this great offer, we will certainly encourage new customers to discover the rich entertainment that is available on our service to watch on many different devices." RELATED
