TRT Balkan has been recognized with two “Nino Ćatić” journalism awards for outstanding reporting on Srebrenica and its tragic history. The awards, presented annually by the “Biti novinar” Association, honor the best journalistic work dedicated to the region’s history and its lasting importance.

Producer Aida Kauković received the award in the Blog/Vlog category for her story “Ramadan in Potočari: Then and Now”, while Haris Domazet won in the TV Report category for “354 Days of Srebrenica”.

The “Nino Ćatić” award commemorates journalist Nihad Nino Ćatić, whose final report on 10 July 1995 broadcast a call to the world as the genocide unfolded. Though his remains are still missing, his commitment to truth lives on through journalists who carry forward his legacy. Since 2019, the “Biti novinar” Association has presented the award to honour his memory and inspire new generations to seek and safeguard the truth.
