CEENewsmax Polska secures license and distribution partner
The upcoming Polish news channel Newsmax Polska, set to launch in early June, has obtained a Dutch broadcasting license, according to Dagmara Iwańczuk-Węgrzynek, head of the Delegata agency. Her company will be responsible for distributing the channel across Poland’s pay TV ecosystem.
Although the decision has not yet been published on the website of the Dutch media regulator Commissariaat voor de Media, the approval was granted in April, with official listings typically appearing with a delay. Dutch licenses are commonly used by international broadcasters operating across the European Union, including multiple channels from Warner Bros. Discovery. Delegata will oversee carriage negotiations with cable operators, satellite platforms and streaming services. The agency already represents a portfolio of broadcasters in Poland, including MWE Networks, Telewizja Republika, Telewizja WP, TVT, France 24 and Fashion TV. According to executive producer Wojciech Surmacz, the goal is to secure near-universal distribution across platforms, excluding terrestrial broadcasting. He has also expressed support for a potential live presence on YouTube, although such a strategy has not been implemented by Newsmax in all markets. The Polish channel will operate under a franchise model linked to Telekom Serbia, which previously launched Newsmax Balkans. The brand originates from the U.S.-based Newsmax, often associated with former U.S. President Donald Trump. Programming on Newsmax Polska is expected to include news, current affairs, documentaries and subtitled content produced in the United States. The channel plans to build a team of around 100 employees during its first year of operation. RELATED
