Netflix and the Ukrainian Film Academy have announced the 15 feature film projects selected to receive screenplay development grants under their joint support program for Ukrainian cinema. Each project will receive $15.000 in funding, alongside English-language script translation, mentorship sessions and consultations with script doctors in cooperation with the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs.

The initiative is open to original feature-length fiction films in development. Selected titles include God from the Machine by Myroslav Slaboshpytskyi, Nine Checkpoints by Myroslav Latyk, Stars at the Bottom by Nariman Aliev, A New Story by Valentyn Vasyanovych and The Fall of Bakhmut by Marysia Nikitiuk.

Industry experts from Poland, Germany, Sweden, Lithuania and Romania evaluated the projects. The program has supported more than 70 Ukrainian film projects and hundreds of industry professionals over the past four years.
