My-Ukraina shares footage of Russian strike on their office
 10 Sep 2026
Ihor Petrenko, director of the media group My-Ukraina (We Are Ukraine), shared video footage of the moment a Russian combat drone struck the building housing the TV channels My-Ukraina and My-Ukraina+ in Kyiv.

The CCTV footage shows an explosion and thick smoke rising after the strike.

“Not in the courtyard, not nearby. It hit right at the newsroom on the second floor. Right where people were working, and right when our journalists were on air with the United News telethon. The video shows the impact, captured by our own CCTV camera. An ordinary business day. A peaceful courtyard. And a second later — an explosion and smoke. This is how Russia wages ‘war’ against Ukrainian journalism: in broad daylight, targeting a civilian building, targeting people whose only weapon is a microphone and a camera,” Ihor Petrenko wrote in a Facebook post.

He reported that six people had sustained mild to moderate injuries in the strike. They were given all the necessary aid, and the rest of the team left the building.

Petrenko added that this was the second time the channel’s office has been targeted in under three weeks. Overnight on 20 August, the blast wave from another strike damaged most of the windows. Nobody was injured that time, and the team continued working and broadcasting. This time, the livestream had to be halted — the first such disruption in the channel’s entire history.

Petrenko said that a strike on the newsroom while on air can not be considered a coincidence or collateral damage.

“This is not an accident, and it’s not ‘collateral damage.’ A strike on a newsroom during a live broadcast is a war crime against the media, and Russia must answer for it,” he said.
