Following the recent acquisition of Iss Pyaar Ko kya Naam Doom (Strange love) LNK Group in Lithuania has picked up another series from Star India. Saath Nibhana Sathiya (Stand by My Side) will start airing on TV1 Lithuania today in the 17.00-18.00 slot.

This is the 4th Indian drama series to be aired on LNK TV group channels for which the Lithuanian broadcaster licensed by Intellecta Srl – a long term syndication partner of Star India for Europe, the Baltics, Russia and Turkey.

“Stand by My Side is one of the longest running Indian drama series, which has achieved high ratings in a number of international markets” – says Christina Vlahova CEO of Intellecta Srl – “And we are very happy that LNK has decided to show it to their viewers, because the story is very touching and we have a lot of high running emotions in it.”

The series follows the story of Gopi, who craves the love he has never received from her mother and hopes to win it from the family she is married into. The series shows a woman’s journey, her fears, her drama and how she becomes better through them.

“The reason why we chose “Saath Nibhaana Saathiya” is because we were looking for the proper replacement of the very successful Indian series “Diya Aur Bhati Hum” – says Jolanta Jasiene - Deputy Program Director of LNK. “We were looking for a similar story, and in both of them we found a very strong conflict with the authoritarian mothers in law, the main heroines have to fight for their rights and freedom of choice. Many female viewers can easily identify themselves with such a situation inside their husbands’ families, and we hope that this common experience will glue them to TV sets”.
