Trotsky, the new 8-part series from Russian Sreda that will be launched this MIPCOM, will be distributed worldwide by Eccho Rights, the distributor announced today.

An historical epic produced for Perviy in Russia to mark the centenary of the Russian Revolution, Trotsky will have its world premiere at MIPCOM with a gala screening in the Grand Auditorium at Palais des Festivals in Cannes on Tuesday 17th October.

The series charts the rise of Trotsky and his integral role in the October Revolution of 1917, through to his exile in Mexico. The story is told from his own perspective in the form of a confessional testament that he hopes will be his last chance to exact revenge on Stalin who so cruelly betrayed him. It is the first time Trotsky’s life has been dramatised on-screen.
