Viasat World signs content deal with MGM for Russia’s Vip Premiere #MIPTV
 08 Apr 2018
International media company Viasat World today announces that it has inked a deal with Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) to make Vip Premiere, its top movies and series focused channel proposition in Russia, home to a raft of current film features and television series titles. Encompassing 12 current films and 20 library titles, as well as current television series, the agreement demonstrates Viasat World’s ongoing commitment to curating world-class content for its portfolio of trusted brands and securing a first look at the very best titles for
audiences in its key territories.

The deal includes the recently released Tomb Raider and Death Wish, as well as the upcoming reimagining of the 1980s comedy Overboard. Alongside these films, Vip Premiere continues to be the home of Get Shorty and the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning television series The Handmaid’s Tale, both of which will debut second seasons soon. Both of the series will be available the day after the US premiere, exclusive to Vip Premiere in Russia. The content will also be available for SVOD via the set top box and Viasat World’s Vip Play online platform - giving viewers the choice of when, where and how they watch.

Viasat World has also secured the rights to a number of iconic library feature films and series, including Fargo and The Hobbit franchise as well as Ben Hur (2016), The Magnificent Seven (2016) and popular films Legally Blonde (2001), The Silence of the Lambs (1991) and Terminator (1984).
