Media Group Ukraine has closed a deal for its top-rated TV series content with Polcast, a Polish Group incorporating channels, such as Polonia1, Tele 5 and Novela TV, the Ukrainian broadcaster announced. Detective psychodrama Who Are You? (which participated in the first edition of CEE Screenings last year) and highly successful scripted reality series True Mystery will premiere in Poland shortly.

Iryna Chernyak, Director of TV Content Sales and Product Acquisitions, Media Group Ukraine commented: “It has been a while since we entered television market of Central and Eastern European Countries. Our content, mainly TV series usually focuses on the stories that most viewers can easily relate to. I am pleased to announce the beginning of our cooperation with such a major broadcaster as Polcast Television. We have a significant library of finished content, formats and original scripts which we are happy to offer to our Polish colleagues”.

In other news, Polsat is wrapping up production of a new romantic comedy film from Endemol Shine Poland, based on a 2004 movie from NL Film which is part of Endemol Shine Netherlands. How to Marry a Millionaire is an adaptation of NL Film’s Ellis in Glamourland, which stars Joan Collins.

The Polish adaptation is written by Karolina Szymczyk-Majchrzak and directed by Filip Zylber and focuses on the life of a single woman who enrols on a course to learn the do’s and don’ts of dating and ultimately find the perfect partner. It will be released in cinemas in Poland on November 29 prior to its premiere on Polsat.
