CEETV and TVBIZZ have added a new category named Climate to their news platforms. The stories under the Climate tag will cover content, public campaigns, initiatives and other activities of the TV and entertainment industry related to the global climate crisis.

At CEETV and TVBIZZ, we believe that this is one of the main issues the modern world is facing today and television and other entertainment media, as great tools of reaching billions, should and must be used to inform, educate and motivate the people of this planet to save it.

This topic has been largely ignored by many big broadcasters; it is now more important than ever for everyone to contribute to reducing carbon emissions, consuming less energy and natural resources, engaging in green projects and helping others to do the same.

Half of Australia is burning – the animal death count is immeasurable at over half a billion! and counting, many people have also become victims of the bushfires. No one can tell when the fires will die down, if rain would come, if Australia would ever be able to recover; we witnessed a similar catastrophe last year in the Amazon. Everyone will be affected. Temperatures will continue to rise every year, destroying the life-supporting system of the planet, unless we change something in our lives, in our economies, in our education and in our understanding of the laws of nature. So far, we have failed.

We hope that this ‘willful blindness’ will come to an end in 2020 and TV will play a major role in the process of finally finding the balance with nature and preserving this beautiful planet for generations to come.
