All channels of Media Group Ukraine began broadcasting the nationwide United TV Marathon on July 12. These are the channels Ukraina, Ukraine 24, NLO TV, Indigo TV, Football 1/2/3 and others. The websites of Segodnya, Ukraina 24, NLO TV and football channels on July 12 are no longer updated. The last material on them is Akhmetov's statement about leaving the media business.

On July 11, Rinat Akhmetov announced a "forced step" — the withdrawal of System Capital Management from media assets. "This week Media Group Ukraine will give up all broadcast and satellite television licenses of our channels and licenses of our print media in Ukraine in favor of the state. We will also stop the activities of the online media of MGU," Akhmetov said.

It is not yet clear how exactly the transfer of licenses "for the benefit of the state" will take place and what will happen to the media that are part of the group.

A SCM spokesperson has clarified that the ceding of licenses will not mean surrendering the property and rights of Media Group Ukraine to the state. More details regarding Akhmetov’s plans should be announced today.
